AAC/aacPlus encoded audio written to ISO MPEG-4 file format. Basically same as .mp4 and .m4a but .m4b extension describes an audiobook.
AAC is successor to the popular MP3 format. AAC provides the same quality as MP3 with 2/3th of the bitrate; 128 kbit/s AAC stream will provide the same sound quality as 192 kbit/s MP3.
