Allows you to specify which character set is used for Cue Sheets, M3U playlists, and ID3V2 tags.
UNICODE - Use 16-bit Unicode character set
UTF8 - Use 8-bit Unicode character set
ANSI - Use Windows ANSI character set
UNICODE and UTF8 options will store international characters as they are and the characters will show correctly on all language-versions of Windows.
ANSI option will save the characters using the currently selected locale. International characters may not display correctly on other language-versions of Windows.
ANSI is the most compatible with existing players. UTF8 is the recommended for the non-english ID3V2 tags (if you want to save internation characters correctly).
ANSI and UNICODE versions use ID3V2 tag version 2.3. UTF8 support was introduced in ID3V2 version 2.4 standard so ID3V2 v2.4 is used for UTF8 tags.
You can use these fields to specify conversion of the operating system reserved characters to the allowed character strings. If you leave these fields empty, reserved characters are simply removed from the filenames.
Note: This option is enabled only for output filenames, the metadata fields will still contain the complete artist name, track title, etc.
