Audio CD or Data CD or DVD ? What's the error code ?

the error code I get is 2A030C00

It means that the drive cannot write to the media. It may be bad or incompatible media.

2A037303 and 2A030C00 are the same problem.

Not all blank discs are created equal. :/

From experience, I know these are good.

2A030C00 WRITE CD - WRITE ERROR
2A037303 WRITE CD - POWER CALIBRATION AREA ERROR

It seems like your CD/DVD/BD drive is not compatible with the CD-R/RW media. Or it is just bad CD-R/RW media.

You could try to update the firmware of the drive.

What is the vendor & model of the drive as shown in the EZ CD Audio Converter / Disc Burner device list ?

as suggested, obtained and used the professional grade recordable media from TY Technology
result: same error code 2A030C00
tried Windows Media Player to burn disc, too without success.

When is the last time you cleaned the inside of the drive?
