trying to convert Apple Music mp4 files for ipod nano

Post by clarkl » Sun Nov 28, 2021 4:41 pm

No luck so far.
I left the default settings (after making a copy of my Apple music files because I saw it overwrites old files).
I had read some advice to first convert to FLAC and then mp3 to get better quality files.
But the ipod says it cannot recognize the mp3 files.
(I have an old nano with no wifi, so can't authenticate my Apple Music account.)
I had read that this was a recommended software for this precise purpose, but have not been able to get make the files in a way that the ipod will recognize them. Thank you for any help. I'm a newbie at this. Somewhat tech savvy, but please go slowly! Thanks!!

Side note, it no longer looks like I have as many files in the converted folder. They may be hidden? Though I have it checked to show hidden files.
But I assume that will sort itself out once I understand what I'm doing!

What gen iPod nano is your device ?

It may be ID3V2 tag issue ? Not supporting Unicode tags: Try setting ID3V2 tag to Ansi.
If it still does not work, does it work if you completely disable ID3V2 tags ?
