It sounds like the audio engine is causing problems?

* link gone.

It doesn't matter the format or the sox setting.

What is the source (file/format / cd) ? Can you share the source file ?

SoX resampler is only used when sample rate conversion is required. The MP3 file you shared is 44.1kHz. If the source is CD, then there are problems ripping the CD.

CD.

I used the same hardware on different software with no problem.

Ok. CD is 44.1kHz and your MP3 file file is 44.1kHz. So it is not SoX resampler problem.

It seems like a ripping problem. Have you enabled Error Detection in Options (CD Ripper / Drive Settings) ? You're not running the EZ CD in a virtual machine, are you ? (it sounds similar to VirtualBox ripping... VirtualBox virtual machine does not rip correctly) (edit: I have not tried in the latest virtualbox versions)

The one thing I didn't try..
"Compatibility mode"

That fixed it.

So it is an usb cd/dvd/bd drive ?

That is why I added compatibility mode. Some USB drives or drivers just do not work properly in CD ripping, the data transfer size is limited. I wonder why Microsoft has not been able to fix it. Are you running Windows 10?

Does it work fine if the error detection is not enabled ?

No errors with compatibility mode not enabled. With compatibility mode enabled the drive slows down 3x-6x.

The drive is a internal Pioneer BDR-209UBK.. Pioneer has nine firmware updates for that drive. :shock:
