CD Rips from Image

Post by jctcom » Wed May 17, 2023 2:24 am

Hi Poiko.

I often am ripping CD's from Mounted Image files.

If I am doing more than one I have to close EZ CD audio Converter before it will see the newly mounted disc.

Is there a way around that? Or is it something that you can / might fix in the software?

Actually another related question. I know I can send the CUE file to Convertor instead of Ripper. Is there any difference doing it this way in terms of the final result or meta-data transferred to the files (Volume levelling etc?)

Thanks.

Disc / Read Table Of Contents or just press F5 to refresh CD TOC (does it work for you ?)

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately that does not work. When I "Eject" a mounted image the actual drive letter disappears and I think that is the issue. Once I "Mount" a different image the drive letter returns (In Windows), but Ez CD either doesn't see it at all or it is there but there is no way to refresh it (That works).

In case it makes a difference I use "Daemon Tools Ultra" to mount and manage Disc Images. Once mounted though the discs are visible and accessible throughout windows.

EDIT:

Probably of more importance is my 2nd related question. Is there any difference in the resulting files / Meta-data etc... by dropping the CUE File on the "Convertor" as opposed to ripping from the mounted image?

Doing it via the mounted image is much slower as it only does one file at a time but I would continue to do it if there is some retention of data that might be lost in the convertor?

Thanks

Carl

Hi Poiko.

Any update on this?
Particularly if there is no difference between ripping from the disc image (CD-Ripper) or converting from the CUE file (Audio Convertor). If no difference then I don't have to worry about mounting the image.

Thanks.

Carl.

Converting from CUE will give you the same result as mounting the CUE and ripping it as an Audio CD

Thank you. That will save me a lot of time. Since I can convert about 8 times faster than ripping from image.
