Show CD log information prior to starting ripping

Post by paulster » Fri Dec 08, 2023 4:46 am

It might be useful to be able to see the data that was read from the CD when first inserted (the pre-gap, pre-emphasis information, etc.) before you actually start ripping. For instance, if I knew that the cd had pre-emphasis I'd change the output bit depth to 24-bit, but at the moment I have to look at the log once ripping has started and then cancel, make the bit depth change, and then re-start the rip if this is the case.

I'm sure there could be other reasons why it would be useful to be able to see if beforehand as well.

You can enable pre-gap, pre-emphasis columns :

How have I been using this software for 18 years now and not noticed that option appearing? Thanks for setting me straight!

Also accessible via View-menu. Both EZ CD Audio Converter / CD Ripper & Audio Converter and EZ Meta Tag Editor fully customizable metadata & info columns. You can also drag & drop columns to change their positions.
