[ Solved ] Damaged embedded cue sheet

Post by GaBriela39 » Tue Aug 29, 2017 3:48 pm

Hi Poiko,
in Foobar created one file "24/96" with embedded cue sheet. In Audio Converter mode, I add an image to a file and save. At that point, the embedded cue sheet is damaged and lost.

For this reason, I need to use version 5.1.1, where this error is not :-(

thx for repair

jiri

Is it FLAC ?

Does it use FLAC CUESHEET block ?

Or .cue data in CUESHEET metadata ?

Can you send me an example file ?

Do you use the "Save metadata" button on the top ?

Or convert to a new FLAC file ?

I don't see any problems adding a picture, and saving metadata.

Yes, i use Save butoon.

There is no problem adding the image and save it. The problem is, this file lost embedded cue sheet. After adding the image and saving, the embedded cue sheet is lost.

Take my first file, put any image to them and save it. Now u put them in Foobar and u will be see.

This mistake is in just 24b flac, not elsewhere, example 16b flac.

Please look at this screen shots:

Made more tests.

Nothing to do with 24-bits.
Nothing to do with embedded image.

Problem is that the FLAC file has album title:

Moonchild (7" - HD)

Embedded Cue Sheet has album title:

Moonchild (7' - HD)

When EZ CD Audio Converter loads the file it does not save two copies of the Album Title (FLAC file, CUE file), but prefers the Album Title of the FLAC file.

When you save the file with updated metadata and embedded Cue Sheet. The FLAC file album title:

Moonchild (7" - HD)

gets copies to the embedded Cue Sheet.

Foobar cannot read the embedded Cue Sheet with " on the title. Because the TITLE in cue sheet is written as

TITLE "Moonchild (7" - HD)"

Which should be ok. Other programs read the Embedded Cue Sheet fine.

I think it's a bug in Foobar, it should handle the TITLE correctly.

What I can do is that I can change the EZ CD so that it prefers the Cue Sheet TITLE over the FLAC metadata title when loading a file with cue sheet.

Problem fixed by changing the code

Code: Select all

if(!pMetadata->AlbumArtist.Length()) pMetadata->AlbumArtist = CueSheet.Performer;
if(!pMetadata->Album.Length()) pMetadata->Album = CueSheet.Title;
to

Code: Select all

if(CueSheet2.Performer.Length()) pMetadata->->AlbumArtist = CueSheet.Performer;
if(CueSheet2.Title.Length()) pMetadata->->Album = CueSheet.Title;
Change will be effective on the next update.
