Rip CD to M4A from Easy CD-DA to EZ CD?

Post by greenleroy » Sat Nov 24, 2018 6:54 pm

This is a multipart question:

First, for Audio Ripping in Easy CD-DA (the previous version of this software), I used the .m4a (AAC) option at 320k. In EZ CD there are two options for M4a AAC including 1) Apple, and 2) FhG FDK. Additionally, there is a sub-option drop down which shows AAC LC and HE AAC. Does anybody know which of these various options is comparable or same to the simpler M4A AAC option in Easy CD-DA?

Secondly, with all of the new options in EZ CD, is there a recommended better option over the M4a codec for ripping audio cd's? I found the m4a AAC option in Easy CD-DA to provide incredibly superior fidelity over any MP3 option, and excellent compatibility across all of my playback devices that is why I used it.

Thanks!

You can use either one Apple or FHG AAC LC 320kbit/s. Use the faster one for your convenience.

They both will write exactly same file format, so there are no compatibility issues.

Audio quality of AAC LC at 320kbit/s is transparent i.e. you should not hear any difference.
