Single digit track numbers

Post by xtabber » Mon Feb 01, 2021 2:43 am

EZ Meta Tag Editor does not display track numbers 1-9 correctly when the tags use leading zeros.

Tags 01...09 are displayed as 1...9 so one cannot see if the track numbers are tagged with leading zeros or not.

Track numbers are handled internally as numbers (integer variables). Leading zeros are format-dependent, some audio formats metadata use numerical and some use text metadata.

The problem is not how they are handled internally, it's how the existing tags in a file are displayed on screen.

I've been using EZ CD for about 15 years, and it does let me pad single digit track numbers with leading zeros, but I always used other programs for editing tags. I hoped to use EZ Tag Editor as a quick way to browse through many folders to check on existing tags, but if it doesn't display the actual tag contents as written, I can't really use it for that purpose.

I wrote this down on to my todo-list. It is possible to change it so that it will display the track number as it is written in the file metadata.
